New Honorary Chairman For CRHT
With great pleasure, the Canadian Royal Heritage Trust announces that the Honourable Alan Redway, PC,QC has graciously agreed to serve as Honorary Chairman of The Canadian Royal Heritage Trust. Mr Redway succeeds the late Hon. Lincoln Alexander who was the first to hold the post.
Alan Redway is a Member of The Queen’s Privy Council for Canada and one of Her Majesty’s Counsel Learned in the Law. He served in the Mulroney Cabinet as Minister of State (Housing), having previously been Alderman and Mayor of the Borough of East York. A lifelong advocate of Canada’s Constitutional Monarchy he has been a warm and generous supporter of The Canadian Royal Heritage Trust since its foundation.
Mr Redway had a nation-wide profile in his public service career, particularly with his continuing concern for housing policy, and, as an elder statesman, remains active in the heritage community and public affairs as his recent book on the record of the amalgamated City of Toronto showed.
As Honorary Chairman Mr Redway’s first duty was to present the Canadian Royal Heritage Awards at the Trust’s annual gala awards dinner on Friday, May 5th, 2017, at the Arts and Letters Club of Toronto.
